Jemar Workboat Academy AS, a company offering training courses for coxwains and crews of seismic workboats, was established in 2011 as a part of the Jemar Group that also comprises workboat builder Jemar Norpower AS.
Classrom activeties will take place on the fifth floor of the new Jemar building in Kristiansund that have been equiped with modern communication systems and furniture for up to 12 students. Practical training will be performed in the production halls of Jemar Norpower AS and in the worboats. Located close to the Atlantic Sea, traning will be done also at sea.
You will be taught how to maintain workboat engines, gear, propellers, hydraulic systems and seismic equitments such as winches and cable lifter. The attenders can also learn how to make small GRP ( glass fiber reinforced polyester) repaires and how to fix a damaged fender.
The course takes four days (normally Monday to Thursday) and seasoned workers and engineers from Jemar Norpower AS will make sure that the students will get a thorough and practical insight in how to take care of their workboats and thus avoid technical problems, shut downs and increase security.

Startup procedures, how to run/operate a seismic workboat and its equitments, back up and safety procedures, launching and retrieving, communications and maintenance.
Seismic Traning Course
For seismic crews and coxwains including streamer cleaning, changing of streamer sections, bird repairs, towing of tale buoy and other cable handling operations at sea.
